In June 2015 the German Federal Office for Goods Transport appointed the NavCert GmbH as ‘Notified Body’.
Therefore NavCert underwent a close examination of its expertise and quality by the German national accreditation body (DAkkS) and received the accreditation as test laboratory for EETS components. Thus NavCert will execute conformity evaluations of EETS-components as independent and neutral third party. NavCert is the third company in Europe which has been appointed as ‘Notified Body’ in this regard.
According to article 27 of the law ‘Change of tolling regulations in regard to the implementation of a European electronic tolling service’, the German Federal Office for Goods Transport informs about the assignment, change, deprivation, and expiration of accreditations of bodies which evaluate and test the conformity with specifications or usability in regard to annex IV of the EETS-decision.
Goal of the European Electronic Toll Service (EETS) is that users have access to the toll charging system of the whole European road network with only one contract and only one on-board unit of one EETS-provider. This pan-European toll service complements the national electronic toll charging services of the particular member states and ensures the interoperability of the already existing and planned toll systems.
